The Cub Scouts are all about homemade crafts and natural preservation, so it makes sense to adorn the Cub Scout hall with a handmade flag. The flag can be simple and still look professional. If you don't have embroidery skills, use fabric paint for finer details such as the troop mascot and lettering. Show the Cub Scouts in the troop the process so they can make their own flags for their rooms. It will show their pride to be a Cub Scout as well as their crafty sides.
Step 1
Ask the Cub Scout leader which animal is the mascot of their group. Include the likeness of the animal into your plans for the flag. Purchase a rubber stamp of the animal's face that is 4-inches tall and 3-inches wide.

Step 2
Cut a piece of blue cotton fabric that matches the color of the Cub Scout uniforms. Make it 2-feet high and 3-feet long.
Step 3
Fold the edges of the flag over by 1/2 inch. Sew the edges in place to create a hem.
Step 4
Cut a square of red fabric that is 6 inches wide on all sides and sew a 1/2-inch-inch wide hem on it. Place the square on its side at the center of flag with one corner facing upward, making a diamond on the center of the flag.
Step 5
Sew the square of fabric in place at the center of the flag. Cover your animal face stamp in fabric paint. Press the stamp to the red fabric square on the top half of the diamond shape.
Step 6
Cut a stencil that reads "Cub Scouts" that will fit one-third of the way up the length of the red diamond. Place the stencil on the red diamond and fill it in with black fabric paint. Allow the paint to dry and remove the stencil.
Step 7
Cut another stencil from poster board that says the pack number of the Cub Scout group. It should stretch all the way across the top of the flag and stop one-third of the way down the flag.
Step 8
Set the troop number stencil over the top of the flag and color it in with black paint. Wait for it to dry before you remove the stencil.
Step 9
Place the flag in a large picture frame to keep it safe. Secure the corners of the flag to the frame backing with double-sided tape.
