#2013alive: Looking Forward to Month 3 - Focus on Fitness!

It’s the end of our second month – of 12 Months of Wellness. Looking ahead to month 3, we’re planning to focus on fitness. What are your plans?

Congratulations! We’ve come to the end of the second month of our 12 Months of Wellness—and we’ve achieved a lot. Over the last month, we’ve covered a lot of ground, so let’s recap first … and then get ready for month 3!

We’ve come a long way!

During February we talked all about how to strengthen healthy family ties.

February—Week 1: We remembered to let our loved ones know we care.

February—Week 2: We set a number of times a week to sit down to a meal with our family.

February—Week 3: We decided to let the little things go—every day.

February—Week 4: We made some plans to do something special with a loved one we hadn’t seen in a while.

We did some reconnecting

Many of us here at alive found this month the most introspective so far. We realized that some of the best ways to affirm our health were also the best ways to assure good health for our loved ones. Simply making the effort to reach out and share time and experiences brings countless benefits.

Some of the insights that came from this month of introspection:

  • “It is my experience that we all give and expect love in our own ways.”
  • “Eating together is all about what works for you and your family.”
  • “Life’s about enjoying our time together, not stressing about every little detail.”
  • “When I think of someone, I make the effort to call them or drop them a line, because life is short, and it only takes a minute to let someone know how much they mean to you.

Coming up—Focus on fitness

Month 3 of our 12 Months of Wellness will focus on fitness.

March—Week 1: We’ll be making it a priority to move more each day.

March—Week 2: We’ll be measuring our exercise success to stay motivated.

March—Week 3: We’ll be adding a strength training routine at least twice a week.

March—Week 4: We’ll be trying something new by taking up a new fitness class or sport that we’ve always wanted to try.
