#2013alive: Get Ready for the 12 Months of Wellness

They’re New Year’s resolutions with a twist – alive’s 12 Months of Wellness are coming your way in January 2013!

Here at alive, we’re taking a break over the holidays to relax and spend time with loved ones, and we hope you’re doing the same! But we’ll be back in 2013 to kick-start our 12-part series the 12 Months of Wellness. If you’ve checked out our January 2013 issue, you probably already know about the series, but if you haven’t yet had a chance to visit your local health food store to pick up your copy, allow us to explain!

12 months to a happier, healthier you
It’s no surprise that we often fail to keep all of our New Year’s resolutions we make each year. And speaking as an alive editor, I can tell you—we’re not perfect either! Attempting to make major life changes all at once can be overwhelming, unrealistic, and very disheartening when our grand plans fall through.

That’s why we’ve created the 12 Months of Wellness: we focus on one theme each month in 2013. Each theme will be broken down into weekly steps that will build on each other, allowing us to stay focused and goal oriented all year long.

January: nutrition
We may be craving turkey with all the fixings now, but come January we’ll most likely want lighter fare. Therefore, we’ll be starting things off by focusing on nutrition in January. Stay tuned for a blog post on January 2 with all the details about the first week (which will be dedicated to eating a healthy breakfast).
